Chemistry Professor Honored for Teaching Excellence

University president Cecil O. Samuelson honored Dr. Paul Farnsworth from the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the 2012 University Conference on Tuesday, August 21.

Dr. Farnsworth, a professor of analytical chemistry and former department chair, received an alumni professorship for teaching excellence. The award includes a three-year stipend made possible by the BYU Alumni Association.

Student Awarded Postdoctoral Fellowship

Only 17 applicants nationwide are selected to receive the Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy Research Award and this year Jared Clark, a graduate student in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, is one of the seventeen.

Chemist Recognized for Career of Outstanding Research

BYU chemistry professor Milton Lee received notice in September that he will receive a national award next year from the American Chemical Society (ACS), bringing recognition to BYU and better opportunities for its students.

Dr. Lee has been an analytical chemist at BYU for over 35 years. The ACS is recognizing his work with next year’s national Award in Separations Science and Technology.
