Farewell to Edward G. Paul

Edward G. Paul, professor of Organic Chemistry in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Brigham Young University, passed away on August 29, 2014. He was a longtime faculty member at BYU and will be missed.

Dr. Boerio-Goates presents "Last Lecture" at Homecoming Social

Dr. Juliana Boerio-Goates retired from Brigham Young University on July 1, 2013 after 35 years of service. She was honored at the Homecoming Alumni Dinner and Fall Social where she gave a "Last Lecture".

All department alumni, faculty, staff, emeritus faculty and retirees were invited to attend the dinner and lecture honoring Dr. Boerio-Goates. There were about 120 people in attendance.

Science Meets Survivor

The same organization famous for bringing boys into the wild will now be bringing boys into the lab.                              

Under the direction of other scouting volunteers tasked with developing a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) program for the Boy Scouts of America (BSA), Lee Hansen, a retired chemistry professor, and his daughter, Thea Buell, have volunteered to write articles for BSA’s magazine,Boys' Life.

John Harvey Mangum, 1933-2012

John Harvey (J. H.) Mangum (aged 79), beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away in Orem, Utah, on July 14, 2012 after a long illness.
